Job Description

We are looking for a

skilled Truck Driver with a strong mechanical interest

to join our

Trailer Repair Shop

team. The core of this role is supporting our repair operations by managing the transportation of trailers needing service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the

safe and efficient pickup and drop-off of customer trailers

to and from our service bay, while also actively assisting the mechanics with repairs and maintenance. This position requires commitment to safety, professionalism, and a proactive, hands-on mechanical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities

Operate commercial trucks

and specialized equipment to safely hook up and transport customer trailers that are scheduled for repair or maintenance.

Manage Service Logistics:

Pick up damaged or maintenance-due trailers

from customer sites and

return completed trailers

once the repair service is finished. Conduct thorough

pre-trip and post-trip inspections

of the towing vehicle and the trailers being transported, documenting any pre-existing damage upon pickup.

Active Mechanical Support:

Actively assist our service technicians with trailer repairs, maintenance tasks (e.g., brakes, lights, tires), and shop duties as required. Maintain accurate transportation records, including logs of hours worked, mileage, and service-related movements. Communicate effectively with the shop manager, service technicians, and clients regarding pickup/drop-off schedules and any issues encountered. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding commercial transportation.
Experience & Requirements

Proven experience in commercial driving

with a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), specifically with experience towing various trailer types.

Essential:

Strong, verifiable interest in mechanics and a willingness to learn and participate in

trailer repair and maintenance

. Basic to intermediate knowledge of automotive/trailer systems (brakes, electrical, running gear) is a significant advantage. Must possess a

strong understanding of safe driving practices

and transportation laws.

Required to own a basic set of mechanic's tools

and be willing to acquire additional tools as mechanical training progresses.
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: $16.17-$34.16 per hour

Expected hours: 80 per week
