Job Summary:



The primary role of the Truck Driver is to haul and dump broken ore and waste from development or production headings.



General:



Refuels, check coolant and engine and hydraulic oils, lubricate all points and complete standard daily check forms and drive equipment to and from work area Visually inspect, sounds, scales and washes down work area, if required Operates and controls truck for loading, hauling and dumping Loads transports and unloads tools, equipment, mining supplies, explosives and blasting supplies, scrap, etc., if required Performs minor repairs such as tightening bolts, fittings, etc. Completes daily log books on equipment and submits written and verbal reports to supervisor Reports progress and any unusual occurrences to supervisor Keeps working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition Must be able to follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive

Health and Safety:



Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work. Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet. Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area.

Education:



High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) Basic literacy (read, write, basic math) required

Work Experience:



Minimum 2-3 years' experience running heavy equipment machinery (in mining industry - preferred) Experience operating 45 ton trucks Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core - Full Basic (or other provincial equivalent) + Required Speciality Module: U0091 (preferred)

Knowledge Required



Demonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining. Ability to multi task and work effectively Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently * Respectful of cultural differences
