Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving and a strong understanding of freight operations. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. The Truck Driver will also be responsible for the maintenance of the vehicle and ensuring that all loads are secured properly.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations in a timely manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Roll Off Bin truck usage pick up bins and off load bins, ensuring that all items are secured for transport. Haul hazardous waste to the secure landfill with proper paperwork. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Perform basic automotive repairs as needed to ensure the truck remains in good working condition.

Requirements

Valid driver's license is required. Class 1 is preferred, Class 3 minimum. Proven experience in commercial driving, with a strong understanding of freight handling procedures. Familiarity with hazardous waste disposal regulations. Transportation of Hazardous Waste certification is preferred but can be provided. Minimum level 1 asbestos certification. Basic knowledge of automotive repair is a plus, enabling quick resolution of minor vehicle issues on the road. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while adhering to delivery schedules. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. Wage depends on experience, licence and certification.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
