Contract length: 6 months Pay: $35.30 per hour Benefits:
We are looking for a caring, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a passion for the nursing to join an amazing team at a beautiful Victoria or Kelowna care facility. Facility Address: Relocate and commute to Victoria, BC. Ability to commute/relocate:
- Victoria, BC. Must be able to relocate to Victoria prior to start date (required)
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any adverse reactions.
- Perform basic wound care including cleaning and bandaging injured areas.
- Monitor patients for changes in status and report significant changes to the assigned RN or medical team.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding.
- Obtain and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure.
- Collect samples for lab testing as ordered, such as blood and urine.
- Provide education and support to patients regarding their post-surgical care, including pain management and mobility.
- Collaborate closely with RNs and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Prepare and maintain patient rooms with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Participate in patient care conferences and contribute to care planning.
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
- Graduate of recognized school of nursing.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- 1 year LPN experience in Canada in acute care (preferred)
