Job Description


The LTL Coordinator is responsible for having a strong understanding of how the traffic flows in all regions of the transportation business and the strategies available to meet balance goals. The LTL Coordinator will be responsible for fostering a strong relationship with all client personnel who require day-to-day service from our company.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Operations Responsibilities:

  • The LTL Coordinator will aid in the translation of customer needs into positive action by the company. The LTL Coordinator must work with planning personnel to ensure maximum equipment utilization while maintaining targeted customer service levels.
  • The LTL Coordinator should ensure Bison Transport has access to as much business as required for maximum utilization, by working proactively with their clients. The LTL Coordinator has the opportunity to affect the quantity and quality of business Bison does for a particular client.
  • Other operations duties include order-entry and delivery appointments.

Day to Day Customer Contact:
  • The LTL Coordinator will be a single point of contact between their assigned customer(s) and Bison Transport—ensuring that the customer’s needs are properly understood and served.
  • The communication between the LTL Coordinator and the customer includes (but not limited to): order acceptance, tracing, claim awareness/facilitation, solving ad-hoc request, and updating internal and external persons with required information. Through effective communication, the LTL Coordinator will ensure that the customer understands their own needs and that they receive a consistent of service delivery- thereby adding value to their relationship with Bison Transport.

Volume and Destination Trend Analysis:
  • Along with the knowledge of all their customer’s individual shipment requirements, the LTL Coordinator must also know their general trends of business volume, the destination mix, and any changes or unusual developments. This knowledge would include the status of competitors, and general business conditions as they apply to the client and relate to our business with them.

Order Entry/Order Acceptance:
  • Entering designated orders for the assigned region, confirming all details are updated and the orders are complete for dispatch with all necessary information.
  • Accepting customer orders under pre-determined guidelines

Other:
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by a Supervisor or Manager.
