Summary of Responsibilities

The Transportation Analyst will support logistics in building efficiencies in transportation processes, as well as identify and implement cost effective solutions across all transportation modes. This analyst will drive and lead best practices and play a key role to ensure the effective and efficient operation of logistics by managing KPI\xe2\x80\x99s, driving continuous improvement and implementing SAP system upgrade.



Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in implementing SAP system upgrades in transportation modules within SAP, with emphasis on implementation of a Transportation Management System (TMS). Collaborate with key departments to integrate logistics with business systems and processes and evaluate/recommend system improvements.
  • Support the logistics strategy by establishing KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and streamlining transportation routes, shipping modes, frequencies, and handling. Establish carrier evaluation criteria and methods of analysis to monitor progress and develop and update monthly performance scorecards.
  • Negotiate carrier rates and establish parameters for negotiating terms and conditions. Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures for product transit or delivery.
  • Communicate and resolve transportation issues with customer service, warehousing, operations, and strategic planning groups.
  • Manage claims process for damages and lost product. Serve as liaison between customer and carrier, with goal of maintaining high quality of service from carrier.
  • Lead monthly/quarterly/annual meetings with transportation providers to review carrier activity, control costs, review incident reports and select service providers based on performance scorecards.
  • Manage interruptions and changing priorities caused by rush orders, white glove service, changeover projects, customer returns, shipping delays and determine optimal solutions.
  • Develop reports and dashboards for internal management and financial review.
  • Other duties in support of departmental mid-term plan, as assigned.

Education Requirements and/or Experience Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma: Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Program of Study: P. Log or CITT Designation preferred
  • Years of Experience: 5+ years related experience
  • Type of Experience: Logistics, SAP TMS

Skills & Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP TMS (transportation module) with the goal of promoting efficiencies and implementing improvements and upgrades is critical,
  • Knowledge of TMS systems, including participation in implementation projects,
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP Warehouse Management,
  • Experience with S4Hana considered an asset,
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in transportation logistics with expertise in domestic processes,
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills,
  • Customer-focused with strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail,
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to build strong relationships with carriers and stakeholders,
  • Ability to produce accurate and timely reports; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.).
