What is the role?

The Transportation Analyst (Outbound) will support Canadian transportation and logistics to develop analytics and operational processes. They will be responsible for cost reporting and analysis, auditing logistics supplier metrics, and providing KPI reports for supply chain. The candidate must have the ability to problem-solve, work independently both remotely and in office, as well as cross-functionally, and be driven to improve processes and develop key metrics in logistics are essential. They will conduct ongoing review of the transportation network to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and decrease supply chain costs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and keep up to date carrier profiles to include contacts, service, contracted rates, assets, safety rating & insurance
  • Create and communicate on Carrier Scorecard performance
  • Highlight any risks on service or safety compliance to Senior Transportation Manager
  • Support TMS/WMS/Enterprise system implementations
  • Communicate weekly with all appropriate stakeholders on reporting
  • Provide analysis to support new store and distribution centre openings
  • Provide analysis to support new distribution centre openings as applicable
  • Analyze Transportation lanes to find cost opportunities
  • Work with cross department colleagues on opportunities to optimize freight consolidation or shipment frequencies to further better Pet Valu\xe2\x80\x99s cost, service and/or carbon footprint
  • Analyze Transportation budget for Canadian distribution centers, report on actual expenses vs budget and forecast
  • Participate in supply chain network model solutions
  • Perform delivery schedule system maintenance
  • Optimize outbound store delivery solutions including fleet and third-party carriers
  • Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures & Process Maps as applicable
  • Vacation / sick time coverage as necessary
  • Participate in project work as necessary
Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications
  • Bachelors\' Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years\' experience in supply chain / logistics activities
  • Experience with TMS, WMS, optimization tools, or network modeling preferred
  • Experience with data analysis and building KPI tools preferred
