Job Description


ROLE STATEMENT:

The Transport Dispatch will be a member of the Canadian Division Logistics Department, located in Red Deer, responsible for organizing all aspects of logistics for product distribution, including the dispatching of appropriate personnel and equipment to site. Reporting to the Manager, Logistics, Canadian Division, the Transport Dispatch will focus on issuing PO\'s, tracking third party invoices and monitoring hours of service for Transport Operators.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Record time of departure, destination, cargo and expected time of return of equipment
  • Dispatch crews according to written schedules and work orders, or as required by emergency situations
  • Advise vehicle operators of route and traffic problems such as construction, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, weight, size restrictions and other information
  • Monitor personnel workloads and locations
  • Receive request for emergency assistance and contact HSE immediately to relay initial information
  • Process and transmit information and instructions to co-ordinate the activities of crews and equipment using a variety of computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work
KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal transportation regulations, policies and procedures, transport job types, equipment maintenance, and dispatch operations
  • Operational knowledge of all of the company\'s applicable procedures, equipment, and governmental regulations
  • Must be familiar with oilfield terminology and equipment
  • Excellent computer literacy and organizational skills
  • Detail and safety oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and verbal and written communication skills
SCHEDULE:
  • Seven (7) days on, Seven (7) days off
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ years of experience in the well servicing industry
  • Flexible scheduling
  • 2-5 years of Dispatch experience is preferred
