As the Transit Planning Technician, you will provide technical expertise, project support, and detailed analyses including geospatial, qualitative and quantitative data to internal and external customers. Primary duties include:


  • Provide technical resources, help, interpretation and training to both internal and external customers; use geospatial (ArcGIS/ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS Online) and other relevant data tools (FME/Python) to support Planning and other decisions and in support of transit projects.

  • Maintain electronic databases and analysis forms, help senior staff with analyses and process work, and stay current and relevant in all required information systems and tools.

  • Extend planning tools and expand use of digital technologies and data analysis to support Planning and Service Design at Calgary Transit.

  • Participate in a variety of projects including planning-focused GIS-centric projects, electronic review forms and databases, research for planning and process improvements.





Qualifications

  • A completed 2 year technical diploma in planning or architecture with at least 3 years technical planning experience.

  • Applicants must be proficient with ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and FME.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.

  • Preference will be given to applicants with an understanding of the Land Use Bylaw and an Experience using Public One Stop Service (POSSE) software would be considered an asset.

  • Attention to details, organizational skills, communication skills, customer service and the ability to work independently.

Compensation: Pay Grade 10 $40.08 - 53.57 per hour

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.




Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
