Planning Technician, Miramichi, New Brunswick

When you join our team as a Planning Technician, you will be a key part of the planning team responsible for all aspects of harvest and road layout and the implementation of the Operating Plan. Our Planning Technician will primarily work in the field and require a strong commitment to safety and the environment.

What You\'ll Do

  • Layout of harvest areas and road locations.
  • Conducting forest inventory surveys.
  • Timber cruising areas to determine eligibility for various harvest methods.
  • Relief logging supervision.
  • Other field or office activities as directed.
What You Offer
  • Graduate of a forestry technical or degree program, Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technician within NB, or eligible to become one.
  • Proficiency with databases, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and GIS applications.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environment.
  • Practical knowledge of timber quality and value.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong results orientation.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Sound planning and organizing skills.
  • Strong experience in the field or a willingness to develop.
  • Experience with survey techniques
  • Willing to work in the field a majority of the time.
  • Able to work alone and in inclement weather.
