The Training and Development Manager is responsible for cohesive service delivery, effective and efficient department operations, and leading their department to meet program goals and budgets. They will provide leadership and supervision to their team.
This position is part of the Training and Development Division with a direct reporting relationship to the Training and Development Coordinator.
Hours of Work:
Average of 40 hours per week. Primarily weekdays but with flexibility to meet the department needs as well as
on
call
responsibilities required.
Qualifications:
Disabilities Studies, Community Support Worker, Health Care Aide Certificates/ Diplomas Preferred (Equivalent education & experience will be considered)* Valid Standard / Intermediate First Aid & CPR certificate required
Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle is required
Ability to provide Vulnerable Sector check from the RCMP
Experience in a supervisory role is an asset
Knowledge, Abilities & Skills Required:
Experience working with behaviour management and individuals with disabilities is an asset.
Experience with employment development skills, employment marketing, employment placement and coaching, as well as community access activities is an asset
Experience with Performance management and Human resource goal setting.
Experience in a support or service industry
Be flexible, resourceful, creative, and patient.
Possess strong interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
