MacKay's Truck & Trailer Center is growing, and we are currently seeking a Transport Trailer Technician to join our Trailer Shop team in Truro, Nova Scotia. MacKay's is a well-established family-owned business with over 40 years experience operating full-line Truck, Trailer & Compact Equipment dealerships, with locations in Truro, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island as well as Moncton, New Brunswick.
We currently have openings on our evening shift for a permanent full-time technician. This is not a flat rate shop, technicians and apprentices are paid hourly. We offer a fast paced, professional safe environment. MacKay's provides employees with the most up to date manufacturers' training and holds safety to highest standards.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Maintain, repair, and certify a range of commercial trailers such as flat decks, dry freight vans, refrigerated vans, pole trailers, walking floors, and dump trailers. Perform inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic faults. Adjust or replace parts on systems including brakes, hydraulic, suspension, lighting, control, as well as axle and wheel assemblies. Provide excellent customer service through efficient time management and collaboration with team members on the status of repairs on assigned jobs. Follow safe work practices and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Canadian Transport Trailer Certification
• 1 to 5 years of experience in the Truck and Transport trade is an asset
• Additional Certifications and/or abilities such as Welding, Cutting and Fabrication are an asset
• Strong mechanical aptitude/troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and the ability to follow accurate instructions
• Safety training appropriate to the trade, along with an aptitude for learning new technology
