Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, responsible, and certified Traffic Control Person (TCP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around construction sites and other work zones in the Lower Mainland. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. As a Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for directing vehicles and pedestrians, maintaining safety protocols, and collaborating with construction crews.

Responsibilities

Direct traffic flow around construction sites using appropriate hand signals and signage. Monitor and manage the movement of vehicles and pedestrians to ensure safety at all times. Communicate effectively with construction teams to coordinate activities and minimize disruptions. Set up and dismantle traffic control devices and signage such as cones, barriers, and signs as needed. Conduct regular inspections of traffic control setups to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Report any incidents or hazards to supervisors immediately. Assist in paving operations as required, demonstrating knowledge of heavy equipment operation when necessary.

Requirements

Valid Traffic Control Person certification Strong understanding of traffic control regulations and guidelines relevant to British Columbia. Minimum 3 years experience in traffic control. Strong communication skills with the ability to convey instructions clearly. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining safety standards. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks as needed. Able to lift and carry traffic control equipment when necessary Ability to operate heavy equipment is a plus. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Reliable, punctual, and a strong sense of responsibility Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to different work sites.
