Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and organized Tow Dispatcher to join our team. The Tow Dispatcher will be responsible for receiving incoming calls for roadside assistance and dispatching appropriate tow trucks to the location of breakdowns or accidents. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a strong sense of urgency to ensure timely response to service requests.

Responsibilities:



Answer incoming calls from customers requiring roadside assistance. Gather pertinent information from callers, including location, vehicle details, and nature of the problem. Dispatch tow trucks to the location of breakdowns or accidents using phone or digital communication systems. Coordinate with tow truck drivers to ensure efficient response times and proper handling of each service request. Maintain accurate records of all service calls, including customer information and service provided. Provide exceptional customer service by keeping callers informed of estimated arrival times and any delays. Monitor and prioritize service calls based on urgency and location. Communicate effectively with law enforcement, insurance companies, and other stakeholders as needed. Follow company policies and procedures regarding safety protocols and service standards. Assist in resolving any issues or complaints related to towing services.

Requirements:



High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in dispatching, customer service, or a related field preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Proficiency in using dispatch software or similar systems. Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations. Knowledge of geographical areas and road networks. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:



Certification in dispatching or related field is a plus. Familiarity with towing and roadside assistance industry practices. Bilingual proficiency in languages commonly spoken in the area.

Working Conditions:



Work is typically performed in a fast-paced office environment. May involve occasional outdoor work and exposure to varying weather conditions. Must be able to sit for extended periods and operate communication equipment.
