Duties & Responsibilities:
Fosters strategic municipal, community, and business relationships to encourage the growth of Tourism
Developing and implementing effective tourism marketing plans which include executing successful social media marketing campaigns and social media activities
Spokesperson responsible for all Tourism related media inquiries.
Cultivates and develops relationships with Provincial and Federal Ministries, Regional Tourism Organization (RTO8), stakeholders and other tourism partners
Identifies and pursues appropriate funding to support new and existing programs.
Creating marketing destination attraction information for tourists
Establishes and implements appropriate tourism destination development programs such as the Northumberland Wellness Tourism Experience Initiative
Responsible for the evaluation, selection, and monitoring of contracted consultants related to Tourism initiatives.
Acts as key member of the Economic Development Planning Strategic Initiatives Department working within a team environment
Compiles research on emerging trends in Tourism and uses the information when consider new policies, practices, products, and programs
Responsible for developing, administering, and monitoring the tourism budget and related expenses using established corporate policies and procedures
Collects, administers, and reports on key performance metrics
Develops and manages changing priorities and timetables in response to changing human and financial resources and conditions
