Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Fosters strategic municipal, community, and business relationships to encourage the growth of Tourism
  • Developing and implementing effective tourism marketing plans which include executing successful social media marketing campaigns and social media activities
  • Spokesperson responsible for all Tourism related media inquiries.
  • Cultivates and develops relationships with Provincial and Federal Ministries, Regional Tourism Organization (RTO8), stakeholders and other tourism partners
  • Identifies and pursues appropriate funding to support new and existing programs.
  • Creating marketing destination attraction information for tourists
  • Establishes and implements appropriate tourism destination development programs such as the Northumberland Wellness Tourism Experience Initiative
  • Responsible for the evaluation, selection, and monitoring of contracted consultants related to Tourism initiatives.
  • Acts as key member of the Economic Development Planning Strategic Initiatives Department working within a team environment
  • Compiles research on emerging trends in Tourism and uses the information when consider new policies, practices, products, and programs
  • Responsible for developing, administering, and monitoring the tourism budget and related expenses using established corporate policies and procedures
  • Collects, administers, and reports on key performance metrics
  • Develops and manages changing priorities and timetables in response to changing human and financial resources and conditions
