Number of positions: 2
All students must be full time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in fall of 2023.
Students must meet the basic requirements of the position. Should you be offered the position, with the City of Cornwall, you will be required to submit verification of school status.
Hours: Varied shifts including evening and weekends, 7 hours a day, 35 hours per week.
Hourly Wage: Starting at $17.00 per hour
Term: 4 months, May to end of August
Cornwall Tourism is seeking two Tourism Ambassadors to assist with visitor services and marketing efforts in the community this summer. With excellent customer service skills and an outgoing and energetic personality, the Tourism Ambassadors will help to promote great experiences and activities in Cornwall while portraying a positive image for Cornwall Tourism and the City of Cornwall.
Responsibilities:

• Provide support to the Tourism Officer in undertaking marketing activities for the department
• Offer welcome services to visitors in both fixed locations and via mobile delivery (bicycle, walking)
• Responsible for revising and updating internal publications as well as websites and social media platforms
• Support efforts to ensure the CornwallTourism.com and ChooseCornwall.ca websites are updated and in line with other information resources of the department
• Develop social media content for Facebook and twitter, and respond to incoming inquiries as directed
• Distribution of the Visitor Guide, Cornwall Living magazine and other literature at select locations throughout the City, which includes lifting boxes
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications: (documentation to be provided at time of application unless indicated not required)

• Excellent writing and photo editing skills, as well as knowledge of website design and social media
• Knowledge of marketing and an understanding of the local business community are an asset
• Bilingual in French and English
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, at the candidates own expense
• Must show proof of a valid G driver\'s license
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two doses) at the time of interview
