This position is to act as a title clerk to provide lawyers with support in their practice of Expropriation Law as directed. As the work in the firm requires collaboration and teamwork, this position will work closely with all lawyers, the Senior Title Clerk, other title clerks, the director of finance, and legal assistants in the completion of client work and firm administration as needed.

Our client, a well-established Toronto law firm specializing in Expropriation Law, is seeking a Title Clerk to join their collaborative legal team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a team-based environment and enjoys supporting lawyers in a dynamic and fast-paced practice. The Title Clerk will play an integral role in assisting with title and execution searches, preparing legal documentation, and ensuring the efficient administration of client matters.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct title, execution, and other searches as directed by lawyers
  • Assist with expropriation document preparation and completion
  • Prepare and organize correspondence, letters, and other legal documents
  • Manage electronic and paper filing systems
  • Produce and manage large and small mail outs as required
  • Answer incoming main phone lines and manage faxes as needed
  • Docket daily time entries accurately
  • Collaborate with lawyers, title clerks, and assistants on projects and firm administration
  • Support lawyers with various administrative tasks as assigned
  • Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant diploma program
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar legal support role
  • Knowledge of Expropriation Law and Municipal Law is ideal
  • Understanding of Real Estate and Litigation proceedings considered an asset
  • Experience in legal or general office administration preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • PC Law experience is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and reliability
