Recreation Theatre Instructor - Performing Arts

Part Time: 2-8 hours a week | Rate: Starting at $25.00/hr. Negotiable depending on experience.

Rise Arts Company is looking for a Theatre Instructor to lead recreational theatre programs across the Vancouver area. Applicants must be comfortable with planning and leading drama/theatre programs for ages 3-12.

Qualifications:

Have a background in drama and/or theatre Have a joy and passion working with children ages 3-12 years old Must have experience lesson planning and leading a range of activities to children and/or youth Must be comfortable leading programs to groups of 25+ participants. Assistant instructors are provided for larger classes Must have the ability to effectively communicate with managers, co-workers, site staff, parents & children Must be highly reliable, punctual and responsible Have the ability to create a safe and welcoming space for children and youth to explore their love for creativity

Coal Harbour Community Centre

Wednesdays - Sept 24 to Dec 10

4:00pm-5:00pm: Mini Theatre (Ages 4-6)

5:00pm-6:00pm: Beginner Theatre & Script Writing (Ages 6-12)

Moberly Arts & Cultural Centre

Thursdays - Sept 25 to Nov 26

4:00pm-5:00pm: Mini Stars (Ages 4-5)

5:15pm-6:15pm: Beginner Theatre (Ages 6-12)

Roundhouse Community Centre (Yaletown)

Mondays - Sept 29 to Dec 8 (10 classes)
No class on Oct 13 (Thanksgiving)

2:00pm-2:45pm: Mini Theatre (Ages 3-5)

4:45pm-5:45pm: Beginner Theatre (Ages 6-12)

Certifications/Licenses:

Current first-aid certificate. Drivers license. Must complete and pass a Police Information Check specific to working with the vulnerable sector
