In this field-based sales position, you will be the day-to-day face of the Boston Scientific Electrophysiology and Access Solutions products to the end users, clinical support staff and hospital administration. Your primary goal is to grow the utilization of new Boston Scientific technologies and support those already established. The open territory currently includes all hospitals performing Electrophysiology procedures in Western Canada. This position can be based anywhere in Western Canada.

Successful representatives consistently provide value to their hospitals and are fully available for service and support. They travel frequently to meet the needs of their clients on a regular basis in their respective clinical departments. They are also team players who help and support their colleagues regularly for the team to deliver on the company mission.

Purpose

The core objective of this role is to support the Regional Sales Director in achieving the goals of the Electrophysiology division. This is achieved through the achievement of customer satisfaction and business growth gained through focused business planning and execution of those plans in assigned hospitals and clinical departments.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum achievement of a bachelor's degree (life/health sciences preferred)
  • 3-5 years solid top performing sales experience - preferably in selling to surgeons, physicians, and hospital administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb technical knowledge quickly and disseminate appropriately to all levels of healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrates solid business and financial skills and understanding.
  • Strong communicator and presenter in English, both written and orally.
  • Able to travel for multiple days at a time away from home.
  • Valid Driver's License with good driving record.
  • Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, both PC and mobile.
  • Displays a consistent, positive attitude and stays cool under pressure.
  • Always maintains a strong corporate image.
  • Continuous track record of working well within a team, and helping others achieve success.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the products and services provided by the division and have they can be effectively used in medical procedures. Visit customers and / or potential customers of Boston Scientific on a regular and planned basis to promote products and services to achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets, as agreed with your manager.
  • Manage and utilize supply agreements and contracts with hospitals and purchasing groups in assigned territory.
  • Plan daily and weekly visits to assigned hospitals to develop the market for our existing and new products through presentations, in-services, medical procedure support, and contract negotiations.
  • Able to provide technical training and support to customers directly in Operating Rooms and EP Labs as well as support needs of hospital management, purchasing department and other hospital staff.
  • Attend meetings, conferences and exhibitions as required to promote Boston Scientific products and services.
  • Analyze and report to your manager and/or others regarding market changes, competitive activities, product performance and business feedback

  • Participate in development of less experienced staff members.

  • Knowledge: A seasoned, experienced professional with a complete understanding and wide application of principle, theories, and concepts in the field. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to company policies. Assists in establishing departmental policies and procedures. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Business Relationships and Project Management: Establishes and cultivates a wide range of business relationships to facilitate completion of assignments. Constant Interaction with end-users, clinical support staff and hospital administration. Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects. May lead projects within the function or department and/or represents a specialized field in larger project teams. Influences middle management on business solutions.
  • Impact: Contributes to the completion of specific and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
  • Liaison: Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Uses discretion, diplomacy, and tact to resolve difficult situations. May escalate serious issues to manager.
  • Mentoring: Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel.
