Speech-Language Pathology
Speech-language pathologists (S-LPs) in an acute care setting work to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders related to various etiologies. This role provides consultation to other health professionals and community agencies as part of an interdisciplinary health team. Research, teaching and student supervision are additional responsibilities in fulfilling our academic mission.

Rate of Pay: $46.79 per hour - $58.48 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.50 hours per week
Duration: Up to 10 months
Qualifications

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent as acceptable by the hospital
Current Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
Minimum of one (1) year of recent, related experience; two (2) years preferred
Diagnostic testing experience and ability to interpret results
Ability to provide education and support regarding speech language pathology
Demonstrated computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and corporate productivity tools
Demonstrated basic understanding of and ability to use videofluoroscopic studies
Strong understanding of various medical conditions and their impact on communication and swallowing
Demonstrated understanding of the role of a speech language pathologist in an acute care academic setting
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose, and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
