We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Temporary BBQ Worker to join our team at the Comox Valley Ribfest in Cumberland. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for food service. As a Temporary BBQ Worker, you will be responsible for preparing and serving delicious BBQ dishes while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to food safety standards.

Duties

Prepare food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and consistency. Operate the POS system, including Micros POS, for processing customer orders efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and serving areas in compliance with food safety regulations. Assist in upselling menu items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods. Follow time management practices to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen roles is preferred. Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential. Experience with cashiering and basic math skills for accurate cash handling is required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests. Restaurant experience is a plus, particularly in the food industry or similar environments. Time management skills are crucial for maintaining productivity during peak hours.
