SALARY RANGE: 1ST STEP: $72,035.60 per annum
2ND STEP: $75,839.40 per annum
JOB RATE: $79,825.20 per annum

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:


Reporting to the Team Lead, IT, this position is responsible for developing web interfaces, preparing documentation, conducting training, monitoring social media, and developing client relationships with City of Brampton business unit staff to develop web content and ensure customer service standards are met.

  • Envision, design and develop the web user interface as per client needs and requirements for the City of Brampton’s internal and external web portals.
  • Coordinate and produce digital media (digital photography, video and audio) related to departmental initiatives.
  • Prepares documentation related to customer service provision, which include internal and external procedures to respond to inquiries, customer service software procedures, presentations, project management documentation, and permission architecture.
  • Analyze problems, issues, and proposals; propose fixes, establish workarounds, provide solutions to problems and/or implement appropriate course of action related to the design aspect of portals and web technologies.
  • Conducts training of employees on web technologies and other customer service software to maintain efficient and consistent service delivery.
  • Liaises with business unit clients and vendors for user requirements gathering, training and implementation of web solutions to gain a thorough understanding of customer service needs.
  • Research new technologies through conducting research of emerging web and SharePoint solutions.
  • Benchmark other municipal web sites to identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and post content to social media channels to ensure the information is current and accurate.
  • Participate as a representative from the division on cross-functional teams that are working on the procurement and acquisition of software programs, which may include testing programs and analyzing and developing tools for extracting call volumes from software.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • High School (Grade 12) plus an additional program of over two years and up to three years in Business Technology, Information/Computer Systems/Web Technology programs or equivalent.
  • Over two (2) years, up to and including four (4) years experience in web site analysis and technical writing.
  • Exposure to a Municipal environment is an asset.
  • Experience with MS Office applications, MS Project, MS Visio and web technology/digital imaging software/tools, i.e. Adobe Product Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Gimmal, HTML and JavaScript.
  • Excellent public relations and customer service skills;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work effectively with staff in a team environment.
