JOB OPPORTUNITY Title: TECHNICIAN ANALYTICAL DEVELOPMENT Reports to: Associate Manager Analytical Development The technician analytical development assists in the development of new pharmaceutical dosage forms in addition to improving existing products and procedures. This position supports the Analytical Development team by performing activities such as: assisting on cleaning of glassware, disposal of organic, acid and general waste in the analytical laboratory; preparation of buffer solutions and reagent solutions for use in daily analytical testing as required; storage of utensils and disposables, etc., Maintains a neat and orderly work environment in the analytical laboratory. The Analytical Development technician also works with the Chemists and Scientists to support chemical and physical laboratory tests on raw materials and R&D samples and reports the test results. Hence, maintains laboratory notebook according to current good laboratory and current good laboratory practices. Key job responsibilities and duties:
Accurately records data from all studies in raw-data records, electronic databases and spreadsheets
Monitors and maintains all analytical laboratory resources and equipment to an acceptable standard.
Develops and maintain proficiency in the use of equipment and instruments as indicated by manager/upper management
Responsible for assisting in the waste disposal in the analytical development laboratory
Provides support to draft/write SOPs and procedures for analytical laboratory
Performs activities in the analytical development area to support the development of new products and analytical methodologies per departmental SOP\xe2\x80\x99s and ICH guidelines.
Performs daily check for balances, Ph Meters and other analytical equipment required.
Ensures the availability of chemicals, reagents, HPLC columns, solvents, etc. needed to carry out all task in the analytical development area.
Ensures all analytical activities meet good laboratory practices and company\xe2\x80\x99s policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Performs all activities following the principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing practices(cGMP), and according to Biolab\xe2\x80\x99s documented procedures, policies and safety standards. Education and experience requirements:
Canadian equivalent to Bachelor of Science or College degree, preferably in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
More than one-year of relevant work hands on analytical laboratory experience in a Canadian or equivalent, pharmaceutical company . Knowledge and experience of analytical chemistry by successfully operating analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, UV/Vis, balances, Ph meters, UV/vis spectrophotometer. Understanding of the principles used in DOE, risk based assessment tools, quality by design, analytical methods and equipment troubleshooting. Experience with Chromeleon software is preferred.
Ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
Computer literacy for the use of MS office software.
Highly motivated and have the skills to handle multiple projects and prioritize the work.
