Position Overview



The B2B Salesperson is responsible for developing and growing Weldtech Training's business-to-business (B2B) revenue by selling welding training solutions and related services to organizations in the construction, automotive, manufacturing, and welding fabrication sectors.

The B2B Salesperson will not only manage the full sales cycle, but will also help design the sales process, implement CRM best practices, and support the future development of a small sales team as the business grows. Experience in welding or the industrial sector, a consistent track record of exceeding sales targets, and familiarity with CRM's are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities



1. Sales & Business Development



Prospect, develop, and close B2B opportunities for Weldtech's welding training programs and services. Manage the

full sales cycle

from initial outreach and discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close. Generate new business through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn, industry events, and existing networks. Qualify prospects and conduct structured discovery meetings to understand client needs, skill gaps, and training priorities. Prepare and deliver tailored presentations, proposals, and quotes in collaboration with the technical/operations team. Negotiate commercial terms and secure signed agreements in line with company policies and margin expectations.

2. Sales Process, CRM & Reporting



Use the company CRM (Salesforce or other) to log all activities, contacts, opportunities, and next steps; maintain accurate and current pipeline data. Contribute to the design, documentation, and ongoing refinement of a scalable B2B sales process, including: Sales stages and standard activities Templates for discovery, proposals, and follow-up Basic KPIs and reporting cadence Produce regular sales reports (pipeline, activity, forecast, results vs. target) for the Owner/Managing Director.

3. Sales Team Development & Leadership Support



Provide input on the structure and requirements of a future sales team (roles, profiles, territories, metrics). Support the development of sales SOPs, playbooks, and training materials for future hires. Offer informal coaching and guidance to junior sales or customer service staff as the function grows. Potential to assume team lead or sales manager responsibilities over time, based on performance and business growth.

4. Relationship Management & Market Intelligence



Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers (owners, operations managers, plant/production managers, maintenance, safety, HR, and procurement). Represent Weldtech professionally at client sites, industry events, and trade-related forums. Gather and communicate market feedback on competitor activity, pricing, demand trends, and new opportunities. Collaborate with internal teams (training, scheduling, administration) to ensure a smooth handoff from sale to delivery.

Required Qualifications



Education



Post-secondary education in business, sales, marketing, or a related field is preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Experience



Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience with a strong record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Experience selling into welding, fabrication, construction, manufacturing, automotive, or similar industrial sectors; direct welding industry experience is a strong asset. Demonstrated success managing a full sales cycle (prospecting to close). Previous experience leading or mentoring a sales team or acting as a senior/lead salesperson is an asset. Proven ability to prospect, build a pipeline from scratch, and grow a book of business in a smaller company or "first sales hire" environment.

Technical Skills



Proficient with CRM systems;

Salesforce experience is a strong asset.

Solid knowledge of basic sales metrics and reporting (pipeline coverage, conversion rates, activity levels, etc.). Strong MS Office / Google Workspace skills (especially Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs, PowerPoint/Slides).
