What we offer:
The Global Product Information organization is responsible for creating and publishing documentation and training deliverables according to the Global Product Launch Process for the mechatronics products, software products, and solutions supported by the Global Products and Solutions Organization (GPS).
As Technical Writer specializing in DITA content conversion, you will be responsible for converting existing MS Word documents to DITA XML and editing content post-conversion to ensure accuracy and quality. You should have a drive to improve processes and solve problems. Familiarity with DITA XML and structured writing is an asset but not a requirement. CSS and XSLT skills are nice-to-haves but not required.
Tasks and Qualifications:
- Run a series of XSLT scripts to convert MS Word documents to DITA XML.
- Troubleshoot conversion errors.
- Edit and review converted content to improve quality and fix conversion errors.
- Review existing content to eliminate content duplication.
- Work closely with other Technical Writers to verify conversions.
- Write wiki content to support Technical Writers in using the DITA CCMS.
- Support other Technical Writers in using a DITA CCMS, with a focus on efficiency and eliminating content duplication.
