IT proudly provides the computer systems, security, IT services and governance that support AGLC\'s businesses, including the operation & support of mission critical gaming, liquor and corporate systems running on a variety of computing platforms. IT ensures the stability and performance of a Local/Wide Area Network, which supports over 1,200 gaming locations and more than 2,000 computers/tablets, 150 physical and 2,000 virtual servers distributed across six corporate offices, casinos, RECs and bingo halls. IT provides leadership in the use of information technology, data and systems to help the AGLC achieve business goals and objectives.

JOB SUMMARY

The IT Business Services Branch is looking for a passionate, innovative, and ambitious technical professional to join the Organizational Change Management team as a Technical Writer.

The Technical Writer will report to the Senior Manager, Organizational Change Management and Business Analysis and will work with internal and external stakeholders across the organization to achieve organizational outcomes, drive adoption and ensure AGLC stakeholders are supported to achieve their business goals.

As part of our highly collaborative team, you will be responsible to keep up to date with best practices, research technical topics, interview subject matter experts, and take initiative to build well constructed and engaging learning resources. You will be empowered to develop our documentation strategy, maintain documentation templates, and incorporate best practices as you implement new processes and create KPI\'s.

Your day-to-day focus will be to develop and deliver technical documentation in various mediums, for various user audiences, with varying technical skillsets. To support our stakeholders, you will produce well-constructed and engaging educational materials; including (but not limited to) user guides, standard operating procedures, process maps, \xe2\x80\x9chow to\xe2\x80\x9d documents, infographics, videos, and brochures. You\'ll also review vendor produced documentation and training materials to ensure it meets the business needs and aligns with AGLC methodologies. You\'ll work with the team to define and incorporate learning strategies and contribute to the development and delivery of the Training Needs Assessment and Training Plan. The products you produce will be part of our e-Learning and live training initiatives. This is a high impact position, and you will be instrumental in driving user adoption, utilization and proficiency.

This role is a hybrid role requiring you to be in office three days per week. You will be expected to provide seamless service in both a face to face and online environments. To be successful in this role, you will need superior written and verbal skills, strong organizational and facilitation skills, and can multi-task and self-manage time without losing attention to detail. In this role, you will demonstrate familiarity with desktop publishing software, exceptional organization and analytical skills, outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills and strong commitment to client service.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Minimum of a two-year diploma in a related field plus 4 years related experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The following knowledge and experience will be considered an asset:
  • Experience working with SharePoint, e-learning authoring software, video editing software, Acrobat Pro, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of requirements analysis and process mapping.
  • Experience creating templates and design elements.
  • Vast experience in writing internal communications and presentations.
  • Experience in the delivery and facilitation of internal training.
  • Experience writing documents within a government organization is an asset.
