JOB OVERVIEW

The Technical Writer is responsible for maintaining/updating various KF Aerospace manuals and the development of new and supplemental documents for current and future design projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce OEM manual updates for the Convair CV580/CV5800 airplane that include Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues, Flight Manuals, and Service Bulletins
  • Produce stand-alone supplements to support Engineering modification/installations on various aircraft types
  • Maintain good records of publications production
  • Maintain control of manual revision status.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Avionics experience would be a definite asset
  • Work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and other source data
  • Interpret OEM avionic documentation into usable text for maintenance and operational manuals
  • Write in AECMA Simplified English an asset
  • Use FrameMaker desktop publishing software
  • Use Corel Draw illustration software for annotating illustrated parts list and other illustrations
  • Familiar with ATA 100 and other aerospace publication specifications
  • Familiarity with SGML documentation as an asset
  • Produce linked documents in Acrobat for intranet publication.

LOCATION

The successful incumbent could be based in Kelowna or work remote.
