We're seeking a
Technical Support Engineer
to join our engineering and field operations team.
This full-time role combines
electronics, instrumentation, and applied geophysics
, supporting airborne systems including
VTEM, ZTEM (AFMAG), Magnetics, Spectrometer, and Gravity
.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable
troubleshooting electronics on the bench
, assisting
field crews in remote environments
, and
reviewing geophysical data
to identify equipment-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, inspect, test, and calibrate system components (PCBs, consoles, sensors, cables, power modules, IMUs, etc.).
Perform bench and flight testing of airborne EM and magnetic/gravity/spectrometer systems.
Monitor and analyze survey data to verify system performance, identify noise sources, and distinguish between equipment malfunctions and natural signals.
Provide remote and on-site technical support to field crews, including troubleshooting and system repair.
Maintain system inventory, prepare equipment for shipment, and document system configurations.
Collaborate with engineers and geophysicists on system upgrades, prototype validation, and data quality improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma or degree in
Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Geophysics
.
Knowledge of
electromagnetic theory (time- and frequency-domain)
and its application to airborne systems.
Familiarity with
magnetometer, AFMAG, spectrometer, and gravity instrumentation
.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret
geophysical data for system diagnostics
.
Hands-on experience in
electronics assembly, soldering, wiring
, and use of test instruments (oscilloscope, signal generator, multimeter).
Ability to read and understand
schematics, wiring diagrams, and system block diagrams
.
Familiarity with
Geosoft Oasis Montaj
.
Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Available for
domestic and international travel
on short notice.
Preferred Assets
Experience with
airborne or ground geophysical systems
(EM, Mag, Gravity, or Spectrometer).
Linux
