THE OPPORTUNITY

The Technical Product Manager is responsible for the conception, development, and implementation of software products. At TechInsights, you'll work with experts in logic, memory, image sensors, mobile RF, IoT, power, consumer electronics, automotive, Intellectual Property (IP), costing, and procurement to understand the features needed by customers and prospects.

You will own the technical product roadmap, gather and prioritize customer requirements, and define products and features to address market needs. You will work closely with the Director, SaaS Platform; other Product Managers; Sales; and Software Development to ensure our software products support the overall strategy, and that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. This position will be required to travel occasionally (up to 10%).

This role will be based out of our Ottawa office working in a hybrid environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Define, create and manage the software product roadmap:
  • Work with the Director, SaaS Platform to understand and develop the product vision
  • Analyze market trends to identify long-term product opportunities
  • Engage customers and prospects to understand longer term needs and market problems
  • Evaluate product ideas relative to existing product portfolio
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Act as the product owner for various software products:
  • Participate in an agile environment that leverages Scrum
  • Represent users within the business; gather user stories and requirements and identify product features that address requirements
  • Write epics, and champion well-written requirements within the company
  • Collaborate with the software development team to provide understanding of market problems and customer input
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog
  • Clearly communicate goals and status updates to stakeholders
  • Competitive analysis
  • Investigate and assess the competitive landscape from a technical differentiation perspective; identify competitive companies
  • Evaluate capabilities and new developments that provide the competition with their value proposition and/or differentiation
  • Use cases
  • Become an expert on the use cases of your products
  • Communicate these use cases clearly and effectively to others; work with Product Marketing to enable Sales with this information
  • Provide training and final-level support for internal stakeholders on our software products
WHAT YOU HAVE
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience
  • Experience with SaaS products
  • Undergraduate degree in a field related to high-technology (computer science, engineering) or relevant work experience
  • MBA or graduate business degree desired but not mandatory
  • Proven success in managing products from concept to deployment
  • Ability to effectively work with clients and internal teams to distill feedback and drive consensus
  • High level of comfort presenting in front of groups and senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives independently
  • Nice to have
  • Pragmatic Marketing certification
  • Knowledge of semiconductor industry
  • Experience with content products or services
