Canada\'s Success.Help bring research to life and drive your career forward with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Canada\'s largest research and technology organization.We are looking for a Technical Officer, Wafer Fabrication to support the Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre (CPFC) within NRC\'s Emerging Technologies Research Centre. The Technical Officer would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.The incumbent will be involved in, hands-on Wafer Fabrication activities while maintaining high standards of quality to support our client\'s demand. The Technical Officer, is a member of a team of Technical Specialist responsible for the performance of a wide range of wafer processes on shift. The successful candidate will be working in the Wet Etch process area of the facility by processing Indium Phosphide wafers for all client projects according to process instructions contained in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and the schedule set by the operations and planning team. In addition, there will be requirement to process material using common fabrication tools, and perform metrology.The position focuses primarily on the safe, careful and precise preparation of wet chemical mixtures and the processing of semiconductor wafers in these chemistries.Screening CriteriaApplicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:EducationA post-secondary education in a Technical, Engineering, or Scientific discipline related to the position.An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may also be considered.For information on certificates and diplomas issued abroad, please seeExperience
  • Significant* hands-on experience supporting manufacturing processes in a clean room environment.
  • Basic experience in the analysis and interpretation of data from material assessment.
  • Significant* hands-on experience with the safe use of chemicals and chemical processing in a clean room laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Significant* experience in the preparation and use of wet chemical mixtures and equipment supporting their use.
*Significant experience is defined as two (2) to five (5) years of experience.Condition of Employment

  • Ability to follow procedures for wet chemical preparation and use in manufacturing, conducting test, performing analysis of experimental data, and documenting results.
