Your Opportunity:

The Technical Lead - Major Capital Projects, Facilities Maintenance and Engineering (FM&E) is a key role in Capital Management and reports directly to the Zone Director, Facilities Maintenance and Engineering. This position collaborates and coordinates with the FM&E zone leadership and their teams, along with Alberta Infrastructure, the FM&E Center of Expertise, and the Sustainability Office to progress and advance the goals and objectives of Facilities Maintenance and Engineering in support of the vision, mission, and business plan of Alberta Health Services (AHS).

Description:

The Technical Lead is accountable and responsible for the development of healthcare facility recommissioning strategies and their execution. This position is accountable and responsible for developing strategies and assisting provincial initiatives to ensure efficient use of utility resources including gas, power, and water. Liaises with facility managers/operators who will be responsible for the execution of these strategies. The Technical Lead acts as a project manager for department managed infrastructure upgrades >$5M. The Technical Lead is accountable and responsible to ensure accurate documents related to building construction and renovations are maintained.

Required Qualifications:

Professional Engineer in a related field or trade certification combined with various competency certifications related to project management and facility operation and maintenance. Minimum five (5) years of facility operations experience and five (5) years of project management experience, preferably in an acute care facility of significant size, complexity, and diversity.
Additional Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in Excel data analysis, PDF document editing, reading technical drawings, AutoCad and MS Project.
