DUTIES:
Reporting to the Manager, Public Service (Collections), the Team Clerk - Collection Services, is part of the team responsible:
For ordering, receiving and cataloguing all Windsor Public Library collections.
This position will perform acquisition functions online, inclusive of entering and updating orders and will perform cataloguing functions online inclusive of locating and downloading bibliographic records.
Will create and upload bibliographic records into Windsor Public Library discovery tools (Integrated Library System (ILS), Archival databases, and local History databases).
Will be responsible for processing shipments of new materials including unpacking, checking, receiving online, verifying invoices and editing holds as required.
Will be required to contact vendors to document and resolve problems, and order system wide specialized collections supplies.
Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation's Health & Safety Program.
Will perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a two (2) year post-secondary school community college Library Technician diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency.
Must have over six (6) months related work experience.
Must be proficient in the use of pertinent aspects of an ILS system.
Must be proficient in keyboarding and knowledgeable in the Microsoft Suite of Products.
Must demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills.
Must be willing and flexible to perform assignments as needed within a team environment.
Must have the ability to travel to off-site locations in a timely and expedient manner as required. If method of travel is by vehicle, a current valid and lawful Driver's Licence is required in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act and must provide a driver's abstract as a condition of employment.
