Teaching Assistant (90 hours) for SWRK 327 - Approaches to Community Practice, Sec 001, CRN 4850, Wednesdays 11:35-14:25, CURRIE 408/9, Winter 2026 Term.
Knowledge of the following required:Models of community practice, including community approaches from historical, ideological and practical perspectives. Application of community practice traditions to different forms of social work. History, ideology and organizing strategies around community practice in Quebec and Canada and the ways in which political context shapes community practice. Presence of community practice ideologies in contemporary community practice Analysis of current community social work practice and social problems as well as opportunities for social change. Similarities and differences between community and clinical practice, and opportunities for partnerships. Practical skills utilized in a variety of community practice settings. The integration of individual and collective empowerment skills. The development of community interventions.
