Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to support our afterschool Mandarin program. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and interested in gaining hands-on experience in education. Volunteers/assistants will support the lead teacher in class, supervise students, and have opportunities to deliver online enrichment sessions as part of their learning and training. Responsibilities:
Pick up and supervise children on-site at the teaching location Assist the lead teacher and support students' Mandarin learning Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children aged 5-10 Deliver online Mandarin support classes for students in the MINGLE Afterschool Program (with training provided)
Experience:
No prior teaching experience required Passion for working with children and a basic understanding of learning styles in North American contexts Previous experience volunteering or working with children is an asset Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility are essential Bonus: Familiarity with instructional technology, online learning platforms, or early childhood education
