Responsibilities and Duties:
Preparation and review of corporate tax returns, trust returns and personal tax returns in accordance with firm standards
Dealing with the Canada Revenue Agency on behalf of our clients
Assisting senior staff members in all aspects of corporate tax initiatives
Assisting in the development and implementation of tax and estate planning strategies
Liaising with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals
Keeping Partners, Managers and other team members informed, on an ongoing basis, of progress and significant issues
Supporting and completing tax assignments
Prepare tax return kits and year end tax packages
Setting up of corporate and T1 files
E-filing/netfiling T2, T5013, T4/T5, T3 returns
Compose CRA letters requesting information on T1
Assisting with scanning personal tax documents during tax season
Performing other duties as required
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have strong problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize and manage deliverables, adhering to time constraints
High attention to detail and accuracy
Motivated and enthusiastic self-starter willing to take ownership for their contributions to servicing our clients
Have strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office) and previous experience using Caseware, Caseview and Taxprep would be an asset.
