The Role
We are looking for a Tax Technician to join our team in Amherst, NS who enjoys tax preparation, advisory, and compliance work but has no interest in pursing the CPA designation. As a member of our team, you would work closely with clients in person and virtually, and be trained to:Prepare personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns and other tax filings
Prepare documentation, tax elections and filings arising from corporate reorganizations
Conduct basic tax research and assist with CRA correspondence
Assist with tax audits, reviews, assessments, voluntary disclosures and notices of objection
Communicate with clients professionally to gather information
Collaborate with managers and partners to ensure deadlines are met and client needs are supported
Qualifications
Our door is always open for the right person with the right attitude. The ideal candidate will:Be proficient using Microsoft Office products and comfortable learning new computer programs
Communicate clearly and professionally, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, reliability, organization and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Have education or experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or tax (an asset, but not required - we will train the right candidate)
