Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer/accounting technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and tax preparation, with the ability to work efficiently during the busy tax season. This role requires excellent analytical skills and a commitment to providing accurate and timely service to clients. As a Tax Preparer, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals and businesses navigate their tax obligations.

Duties

Prepare and file tax returns for individuals and businesses. Review financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and other documents to ensure accuracy. Utilize accounting software such as Sage or Quickbooks to manage client accounts effectively. Conduct account reconciliation to identify discrepancies. Provide guidance on accounts payable processes and payroll management. Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information for tax preparation.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or in a similar accounting role. Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage or Quickbooks. Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, and payroll processes. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills for client interaction.

Education

Post secondary diploma or degree in accounting

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
