The Opportunity:

Our client, is a toronto based Asset Manager with a global Real Estate Portfolio. We are currently supporting them in their search for a Tax Analyst.

Under the guidance of the Tax Manager, the Tax Analyst plays a pivotal role in upholding tax compliance standards. Responsibilities include preparing quarterly provisions for financial statements, compiling corporate, partnership, and trust returns, and meticulously reconciling these returns with GL accounts.

What You\'ll Be Doing:

  • Aid in compiling working papers to substantiate the tax provision for quarterly financial statements and annual tax returns
  • Assist in the preparation and timely filing of various tax returns, including those for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and foreign reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Conduct account analysis and contribute to the monthly filing of sales tax, such as GST/HST and QST, while ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Coordinate timely payments for tax installments and returns as required
  • Review and reconcile government statements with accounting records, addressing any discrepancies and preparing necessary journal entries
  • Provide support during government audits, including managing information requests, responding to auditor inquiries, and researching tax legislation to support filing positions.
  • Assist in conducting intercompany (IC) analysis related to loans and notes
  • Prepare monthly calculations for management fees, tax accruals, current tax account balances, and cash tax forecasts
  • Uphold and advocate for the organization\'s values and principles, especially those concerning ethics, morality, and integrity
  • Fulfill any additional duties as assigned
What You\'ll Need to Be Successful:
  • Possess or actively pursuing an accounting designation (CPA)
  • Hold a university or college degree in business administration, commerce, or accounting
  • Demonstrated experience of 3 to 5 years in preparing and filing corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
  • Openness to completing the CPA Canada In-depth Tax course or similar relevant courses
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel spreadsheet operations
  • Detail-oriented individual who thrives on problem-solving
  • Able to work autonomously while maintaining high standards of work
  • Uphold a high standard of integrity in all professional dealings
