ABOUT THE ROLE



Lafarge Canada is looking for an experienced

Tandem Dump Truck Driver

to join the team.

You will drive a truck equipped with a dump body and transfer trailer to transport and dump loose materials, such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, coal, or bituminous paving materials. Haul and deliver materials to and from specified vendors and job sites including loading and unloading in designated areas.


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH


Communicates with load and unload areas, hauls materials safely to designated areas and maintains safe speed and observes all haulage. Performs walk-around pre-trip safety inspections. Identifies safety problems or concerns and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and areas where safety can be improved. Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced. Required to understand general knowledge intermediate computer skills Communicates and promotes safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with Company standards May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting Responsible for completing daily checklist, journal and reports Continuously communicating with plant operators, truckers, quality control and dispatch Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Field of Study Preferred:

Required Work Experience:

Required Training/Certifications:

Valid Class 3A Drivers License.

Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel required


Additional Requirements:


Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience hauling construction materials. Heavy machinery / equipment experience Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
