Reporting to the Manager, Talent Partnerships, the Talent Partnership Consultant (TPC) supports faculty, new graduates, students, employers, community partners and internal units at Brock University by generating and enhancing employment opportunities for current students and new graduates. The TPC is responsible for facilitating key employer partnerships, both in terms of cultivating skill development / employment opportunities and by advancing employer relationships with faculty. Working collaboratively within Co-op, Career and Experiential Education, the TPC achieves strategic department priorities which contributes to providing a transformational and accessible academic and university experience for students. The TPC will be securing jobs for students from all programs with a focus on Engineering and STEM.
The Talent Partnership Consultant will:
Develop and secure new employers through researching and identifying emerging employment trends and sectors by using the internet, other online tools, conferences, trade shows, newspapers, trade magazines, and other resources to identify potential employers, develop suitable employment opportunities, and employ various methods to "sell" and secure jobs, Brock University, students and new graduates to reputable employer partners;
Work closely with employers to identify needs, develop appropriate, career-related job descriptions, and follow through to the hire phase;
Strengthen relationships and maintain frequent contact with employers to facilitate long-term retention of quality employers;
Facilitate the arrangement of interviews between employers, new graduates and students, discussing interview results with employers to help determine best fits;
Identify, promote and coordinate opportunities for employer representatives to gain visibility on campus, such as campus visits, information sessions, guest speaking, and recruitment events;
Work closely with Talent Development Specialists to develop, review, and enhance delivery of innovative career development support, including securing guest speakers to share industry knowledge and career paths;
Research emergent trends in the identification and selection of talent to provide sector-specific feedback to new graduates, students and faculty;
Develop potential classroom connections between faculty and employers;
Work closely with staff to understand and meet new graduate and student needs in an effective and engaging manner;
Assess new graduate / students' needs/situations and recommend realistic and achievable career and job search goals;
Provide critical employer feedback to students, new graduates and Career Consultants regarding job applications, competencies and interviews;
Participate, represent, and support numerous University recruiting activities that require attendance outside of normal working hours; including but not limited to: Ontario Universities Fair - Toronto, Spring Open House - on campus, Fall Open House - on campus, Information Sessions, Recruitment Events, Faculty Events.
Key Skills and Experience:
An undergraduate degree in a related field (Computer Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or Human Resources) or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Relevant experience with sales and marketing, human resources, and/or recruiting, preferably in an educational setting, including significant experience developing and managing relationships;
Advanced knowledge and preferably experience in effective sales and relationship management practices;
Knowledge of recruitment, human resources, talent acquisition, on campus recruitment, the hiring cycle, and the sales cycle;
Solid computer competency including Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, database, web applications, social media, and internet search engines;
Strong customer service orientation, with the proven ability to build long-term relationships;
Advanced communications skills (verbal, written and interpersonal), including superior listening skills;
Ability to develop and deliver persuasive messaging, with a keen ability to "sell" and close deals;
Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate individuals, working with diverse groups to strategize career objectives;
Creativity and problem-solving abilities to provide advice and recommendations to employers, new graduates and students regarding all aspects of the job search process;
Proven ability to organize and handle a variety of projects, deadlines, and schedules simultaneously and independently.
Preferred or Asset Skills:
Sales training/certification.
Salary and Total Rewards:
Job Grade [L], Salary Scale ($66,817- $108,353);
Target Hiring Range: $66,817- $70,000 This is a permanent position that includes:

The final salary is based on experience, internal equity, and budget considerations within the target hiring range.*
