Role Overview

Reporting to VP of Operations, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible to promptly identify the manpower needs within the company. As a Talent Acquisition specialist, you are passionate about cultivating an amazing candidate journey from beginning to end. You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end recruitment for and collaborating with hiring managers and senior leaders.

Responsibilities/Duties
  • The successful candidate should be adaptable and willing to flexibly handle various tasks and responsibilities as needed.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria
  • Help with field crew coordination
  • Determine selection criteria
  • Manage and oversee the entire end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Source potential candidates through job boards and social media by posting job ads and connecting with potential candidates
  • Screen and evaluate applicants based on qualifications
  • Conduct interviews in coordination with hiring managers
  • Perform necessary background checks
  • Handle communication with and between candidates/applicants and the HR department

  • Creates and manages job descriptions and announcements.
  • Representing the organization at job fairs and recruiting events
  • Researching and developing hiring strategies and procedures in line with the industry
  • Monitors and analyzes market trends, issues and opportunities for recruitment
  • Communicate regularly with HR department to get a clear view of company\xe2\x80\x99s hiring needs and organizational goals
  • Perform analysis of organizational development and anticipate future employment needs
  • Assist as required with other projects within the HR team
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • 4+ years of HR recruiting/manpower coordination experience primarily in the construction industry in a small to medium sized business
  • 3+ years of high-volume, fast-paced trades recruitment experience
  • Full fluency in Spanish preferred. Ability to speak a second language is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills/sensitivity.
  • Experience finding, costing, and booking safety training
  • Experience researching and implementing professional development training
  • Familiar with HRIS databases, Applicant Tracking and payroll software including BambooHR and Jazz HR
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and trust with various stakeholders including trades people, office employees, managers, executives, clients, and the community
  • Outgoing and friendly, cares for people
  • Strong sense of urgency and organizational skills
  • A self-starter that can work independently or in a team
  • Ability to think outside the box. Understands both the short and long-term needs of employees, managers and the company as a whole
  • A strong influencer
  • Tactful when dealing with sensitive topics and who respects confidentiality
Requirements
  • Experience working in the construction industry considered a strong asset.
  • This position may involve occasional travel. Ideal candidate should be willing and able to travel as needed.
  • Prior safety knowledge of construction procedures is considered a valuable asset for this role.
  • An undergraduate degree in business with a major in management or human resources considered an asset or equivalent experience
  • CPHR designation considered an asset
