Job Overview

Reports to: Human Resources Manager

Shift: 5 x 2, Monday to Friday - home/office hybrid

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

Responsibilities
  • Execute full life cycle recruitment process with the goal of hiring top-level talent, including recruiting and sourcing active and passive candidates for hard-to-fill roles, managing job postings, screening and interviewing, reference and background checking, and initiating onboarding and new hire meetings.
  • Recruit and manage multiple position requirements across various disciplines paying particular attention to trades positions.
  • Develop strong relationships with Hiring Managers, Senior Management, Directors, HR Business Partners and Supervisors at all levels.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers to understand recruitment needs through a scoping call and develop recruiting strategies based on Hiring Manager needs.
  • Workforce planning for proactive recruitment in high growth areas as well as tracking and reporting on monthly recruitment metrics.
  • Source high-quality candidates using internal and external traditional and innovative strategies and tools, including social media, website postings, networking, advertising, employee referrals, career fairs and database mining.
  • Conduct phone, in-person, and virtual interviews with candidates of all levels.
  • Negotiate compensation in conjunction with the HR Business Partners and hiring managers.
  • Responsible for leading Komatsu Mining Corp. careers fairs and networking events. Create and maintain partnerships with schools, Indigenous organizations and professional associations.
  • Identify, develop and maintain sourcing networks, including LinkedIn, Indeed, and other social media and professional organizations. Network with various stakeholders and build the employer brand with candidates (active and passive candidates) through all recruitment activities and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Support and maintain recruitment processes and systems. Manage recruitment projects such as process improvement for recruitment procedures and systems. Be a key contributor on recruitment-related projects and policy discussions.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities performed are fully compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources or related field and at least 2-3 year of full cycle recruiting experience, specifically filling hard to fill roles.
  • 2-3 years of full life cycle recruitment experience with a focus on delivering results, preferably within the mining or resource development industry.
  • Minimum 2 years\' experience with a focus on recruitment of all levels of construction, mining and manufacturing plant personnel, trades and field staff and service.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with business leaders, while gaining insight into the daily operations and needs of the organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and customer service skills.
  • Experience with both traditional and innovative strategies and tools including social media platforms, website postings, networking, advertising, career fairs and database mining.
  • Excellent organizational and recruitment execution skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Experience using social media tools for recruitment including Applicant Tracking software preferably Success Factors.
