The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. We are looking for someone to join our* People & Culture Team *to lead the strategy and execution of all year-round mass recruitment initiatives. The Talent Acquisition Lead will oversee high-volume talent acquisition for frontline Playland, PNE Fair and all other year-round events requiring mass recruitment. As a department leader, they will support a small team in operating our sub-department, Employee Services, in addition to other general HR administrative tasks and projects. Why* join our Team?*

What* will you DO this year? In your role as a Talent Acquisition Lead \xe2\x80\x93 People & Culture your primary role will be to: *
Lead all seasonal talent acquisition and mass recruitment initiatives for over 1300 Playland, Summer Fair and Winter Fair frontline seasonal employees.
  • Lead a small team and oversee projects and tasks related to high-volume talent acquisition, general department administration, and the People & Culture Team\xe2\x80\x99s sub-department responsible for uniforms and outfitting all PNE staff.
  • Develop and execute strategies related to recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, retaining and engaging all seasonal employee groups.
  • Oversee and coordinate seasonal job marketing campaigns, referral programs, and online and in person job advertising.
  • Collaborate with managers overseeing seasonal employees to gather relevant information and communicate seasonal recruitment timelines and requirements.
  • Lead the execution, coordination, and interview facilitator training for a large number of virtual mass group interview sessions during our peak season (April \xe2\x80\x93 August).
  • Develop documents, templates, and all other resources required for sorting, assessing, and communicating with large groups of candidates, returning employees, and new hires.
  • Oversee the communication and coordination of the PNE\xe2\x80\x99s Seasonal Returning Employee Program. Partner with department leaders and Marketing to develop an engaging and timely process and communication plan aimed at encouraging previous Fair and Playland employees to return for the upcoming season.
  • Discover and implement efficiencies within all procedures, systems, and technology related to project management, talent acquisition and administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate feedback meetings at the end of the peak season to develop change initiatives on all People & Culture initiatives related to seasonal employees.
  • Manage the sub-department, Employee Services and assist People & Culture team members with the department\xe2\x80\x99s daily operation, budget, and uniform inventory management.
  • Assist with seasonal employee performance appraisals and managing employee files and staff lists.
  • Create and distribute the annual seasonal employee engagement survey. Analyze and present data in order to make people & culture related improvements.
  • Undertake a variety of People & Culture projects and duties as assigned.
What* else?* *
Must have an undergraduate degree or diploma in Business or Human Resources; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience executing full-cycle recruitment.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
  • Previous experience with high-volume recruitment or mass group interviews is considered a strong asset.
  • Must have previous experience coordinating multiple projects, executing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Must have excellent computer skills in order to leverage various systems and technology related to a variety of People & Culture functions.
  • Previous experience using a technology-first approach to task management and/or talent acquisition is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment and collective agreement administration is considered a strong asset.
  • Must be an excellent communicator with an ability to communicate effectively with department leaders, direct reports, employees, and community partners.
  • Must be able to effectively coordinate multiple projects, execute multiple tasks simultaneously while working with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain adaptable in a complex environment with multiple peak seasons,
