Our Newfoundland and Labrador Operations are an integrated mining, milling, and processing operation. Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey?s Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.
The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Student for FALL 2023 to join our Vale Newfoundland and Labrador Human Resources Team based in St. John?s, NL. This is a 4-month position working in a hybrid in person and working from home environment. As a Talent Acquisition Student, you will have the opportunity to further your development by providing day-to-day support for various projects and initiatives within the Talent Acquisition Team. You will have a holistic and enriching experience like no other, with opportunities to learn and participate in talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, succession planning, leadership development, and more! In this position, you will:

• Manage assigned recruitment files from start to completion for students in Long Harbour, Voisey?s Bay, and St. John?s, as well as other roles as required;
• Including but not limited to making job descriptions, posting jobs, screening candidates, pre-screen interviews, conducting interviews, candidate selection, presenting offers, completing reference checks, etc.
• Assist recruitment team in determining sourcing and recruitment strategies;
• Assist recruitment team in planning recruitment initiatives and events;
• Manage assigned projects in a manner that meets quality, time, and resource requirements;
• Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in handling critical and sensitive information, records, and reports;
• Have the opportunity to build relationships with people in the business;
• Potentially be given the opportunity to travel to Long Harbour and Voisey?s Bay Sites.
  

About You

• Currently enrolled as a student in a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-Op) Program.
• Concentration in Human Resources & Labour Relations is preferred.
• Solid verbal, written and analytical communication skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite ? particularly Excel.
• Proven time management and organization skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and facilitation skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
