BURNCO has a tremendous full-time opportunity for a dedicated Talent Acquisition Advisor to support our North American corporate and operational hiring requirements. You are someone who possesses the experience, passion and drive to ensure we maintain a great pipeline of qualified professionals for our various locations throughout Western Canada, Texas and Colorado. Based out of our Calgary head office, our ideal TA Advisor understands the challenges of the construction, manufacturing and/or trucking industries, particularly as they impact the building materials segments. You are skilled at establishing rapport and building trust quickly with all stakeholders and potential new employees. What You Will Be Doing
  • Work with BURNCO Canadian and US HR Business Partners and Hiring Managers to attract, assess, identify and hire corporate talent for vacancies in the Corporate functions as well as in Supervisory and/or Senior Operational roles
  • Create compelling job postings for our career pages as well as content for social networking accounts supporting BURNCO's employer brand (Linkedin, VIZIs, FB, Instagram, regional job sites, etc.) within approved budgets
  • Learn and work with UKG Pro Recruitment & Onboarding Modules, background check processes (SureHire Certn, Xref, etc.)
  • Partner with and lead Hiring Managers through the recruitment process (from kick-off to background referencing)
  • Build talent pipelines for ongoing and future needs
  • Create or update job posting descriptions as necessary to advertise and attract target applicants
  • Maintain a balance between candidate advocacy and business partner to ensure successful placements
  • Utilize data to report on successes and make recommendations for improvement
  • Implement and execute a purpose-driven hiring strategies
  • Build and apply best practices, maintaining a mind-set of best in class recruitment
  • Continuously grow your network and knowledge by staying up to date with industry changes, tech trends and community relations
  • Follow appropriate filing administration practices of recruitment materials (job descriptions, referencing reports, etc.)
  • Travel within Western Canada or the US as necessary to work with Hiring Managers.
What We Would Like You From You
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working a full cycle recruitment process, preferably experience working within the transportation, construction or manufacturing industries working on all types, levels of roles (corporate functions, operations, and/or field)
  • Solid understanding of Canadian labour regulations (US understanding would be an asset)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and industry experience
  • Demonstrated creative approach to sourcing, attracting and engaging candidates - you know where they are and what it takes to bring them on board
  • Excellent understanding and experience with applicant tracking systems like UKG Ulti-Pro recruitment and onboarding modules or similar systems; Workable, etc.
  • High proficiency with social media apps, recruitment tools (like LinkedIn, Indeed, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to influence decision makers
  • Intermediate and above abilities with MS Office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented and organized, proactive and able to switch easily between a "get it done" behavior and strategic thinking
