Teachers actively work on teacher learning teams using collaborative models of support to co-plan, co-teach and co-assess in an inclusive setting, using invisible interventions. Additionally, teachers mentor students, over time, in reflecting on where their personal interests and strengths overlap with emerging career-life opportunities in the world.

All teachers must be prepared to use a variety of technology for planning, attendance monitoring, communicating classroom instruction and reporting, and be prepared to support the School Improvement Plan and District goals through Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing and the Four Blankets of Resilience.

Necessary Qualifications:



possession of a valid B.C. Teaching Certificate; university training, or its equivalent, relevant to the posted position; and, successful teaching experience relevant to the posted position.

The successful applicant will:




demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of and understanding of personalized learning, cross cultural understandings, and project-based learning; demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with Indigenous rightsholders and implement Indigenous pedagogy through Indigenous ways of knowing and being; demonstrated understanding of Universal Design for Learning; have Teacher Librarian Qualifications; have five years of successful teaching experience as a Teacher Librarian; have proven skills in teaching grades K to 12; and, possess a BC Driver's license.



Reporting to the assistant superintendent, the candidate will be a member of the Instructional Leadership team and the primary objectives will be to:

lead classroom teachers in the areas of personalized learning and curricular design and assessment; lead a mentorship structure to support new and experienced teacher librarians; lead and support the development of Inquiry and Project Based Learning as a pedagogical approach; coordinate and organize district professional learning opportunities for teacher librarians and teachers; oversees and supports Destiny Follett library management system for the school district; provides/organizes Destiny Follett library management training and support for other teacher librarians consults with schools to purchase Focused Ed K-12 resources; oversees Digital Classroom access for schools including usernames and passwords; creates and supports District Library website; and assists the district in selecting and maintaining resources that represent diversity and equity.
