Why we have this role:

The role of Farmers Depot is to provide convenient and fast access to farm supply products to livestock producers right across Canada. There are over a 1,000 different products available to customers online and a smaller selection of products available at seven of our retail locations across the country. We are looking for a Systems Analyst to join our team full-time. This role is responsible for ensuring that Farmers Depot has the systems it needs to operate the current business it has while ensuring scalability for a much larger business in the future. The goal is to automate process where possible and to make the sharing and updating of information the easiest and most accurate it can possibly be.
Working with us:
This is a permanent, full-time position based out of our office at 455 Dobbie Drive, Cambridge, Ontario. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with an hour unpaid lunch.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

  • Ensure clean usable data that is consistent across all data repositories.
  • Work with GVF Application Development and IT to ensure accurate data population of operational systems for Farmers Depot.
  • Build best-in-class functionality that fully automates the order-taking process and ensure others are fully trained and following proper SOPs.
  • Optimize the online transaction experience from start to finish including the final invoice and payment.
  • Keep improving the e-commerce site for SEO and paid search performance.
  • Maintain and improve the data process for creating an annual printed catalogue and monthly flyers.
  • Measure analytics related to all marketing channels and initiatives to understand ROI on campaigns, promotions, flyers, catalogue distribution, coupons and other similar type of marketing initiatives.
  • Create and maintain reports that are effective for management decision making and monitoring.
  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives using process mapping to simplify current processes and become more efficient while supporting with technology tools where applicable.
  • Responsible for daily posting of sales transactions, ensure pricing is always accurate and up to date in operational systems, and maintain licenses required to operate and sell our products.
  • Support implementation of new operational systems.
  • Assess and communicate operational systems needs of Farmers Depot to Director of IT and IT Team

Your background includes:
  • Degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with information technologies and systems.
  • Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems, through critical thinking and creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficiency in collecting, documenting, and managing user requirements.
  • Proven record of successfully managing projects, working independently, analyzing data and meeting deadlines
  • Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training, and implementing new applications and systems.
  • An understanding of cybersecurity best practices and the ability to incorporate security measures into system design and implementation.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well as a team member in a fast-paced, professional environment.
