Job Summary

A senior technical role that is required to support and maintain project implementation and the hospital\'s compute environment which includes servers, operating systems, SAN, backup/restore technologies etc. The role is at a Tier 3, expected to handle escalations and support the ICT Service Desk, the Business and Clinical Applications Team, vendors and partners (such as eHealth Ontario, SHINE partners, LHINs etc.). The incumbent is expected to use their expert level technical knowledge to design, and deploy various tools and systems to meet the requirements of both the operational business, technical and application teams. This position requires an experienced, motivated, confident and ambitious individual. In addition to technical skills, it is expected that the candidate will also possess excellent customer-facing skills (both written and verbal). The person will be required to participate in a rotational on-call.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Sciences, Business, Arts or a related field is preferred
  • Five to eight years\' experience in the field is required
  • Additional IT certifications such as MCSE is an asset
  • In depth knowledge of Windows operating system including Active Directory is required
  • In depth knowledge of VMware 6.x
  • Experience with Office 365 deployment and support
  • Experience managing SAN Infrastructure, MDM technologies, Citrix and Backup technology is required
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle situations involving unplanned outages.
  • High level of initiative and self-direction
  • Strong analytical, organization, conceptual and decision-making skills and the ability to work within a team environment
  • Ability to function within a 7/24 environment and participate in a rotational On-Call
  • Demonstrated leadership and commitment to continuous professional learning

As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital\'s Occupational Health and Safety department.
