We invite you to be part of our evolution.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a System Design Lead to join our Project Technical Services team in the Studies & Engineering Group in Toronto. This is a full-time position.The purpose of the Systems Design Lead is to support and influence decision making within the Contractor Performance Management (CPM) Area and to maximize business value by building tools and systems to track and manage business activities including spend, highlighting opportunities to leverage cost savings and strategic planning. The Systems Design Lead is a versatile member of the team and functions in their area of responsibility by actively participating in, analyzing and challenging current data captures, reporting tools, and key information for tracking to assist the business monitor and manage across various facets of performance.The incumbent will be responsible for building and developing tools and reporting systems that will connect various data points to support Contractor Performance Management. They will drive development of new routines and tools to build data capture for numerous aspects of performance management and create both routine and customized reports to support the objectives of the department and the business. The individual will have the ability to critically analyze historical data, identify gaps in data capture and reporting and develop different means of filling the gaps while focusing on a streamlined approach. They will have good working knowledge of SAP and its reporting capabilities to yield information from the system as required as well as expertise in various tools including but not limited to Power BI, Excel, Visio, Business Objects etc. The lead will be a good communicator, act as a liaison between various data users, work directly with leadership, and provide overall support to the contract planning and execution process.Additionally, in this position you will:Work directly with end users to understand important data measures for performance, gaps in data capture and builds customs solutions to resolve the data issues.Work with Contractor Performance Management (CPM) department team to understand key performance indicators to be tracked and managed with existing systems including data for cost, quality, safety etc.Build and establish tools to enable the full evaluation of financial outcomes, value drivers and risks Work with the team to develop appropriate control systems that act as early warning mechanisms to identify variances to targets in sufficient time.Build measurement tools to allow identification of risks and variances in performance and enable early and effective course corrections.Develop, monitor, and evaluate SAP and Business Objects reports to assist the Contractor Performance Management Area as well as various Business Units connected with contract usage.Build tools to enable monitoring available funds against commitments and central contracts for the North Atlantic OperationsDevelops performance tracking tools for all streams (demand planning, mobilization, field assessment action plans, progress payments etc.)Develops and Establishes contract data reporting and performance tracking of all streams (demand planning, mobilization, Field Assessment action plans and progress, payments, etc.)Builds systems for integration various vendor external data reports into centralized reporting tool to be used by the operation.About YouEducation:Undergraduate degree in Business & Software Engineering or IT related is preferred.Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experienceSkills:Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, and Project; advanced knowledge of Excel is required. Working knowledge of SAP is required. Knowledge of other ERP systems and PowerBI is an asset.Must possess intermediate to advanced knowledge of entire contract management / administration / procurement cycles.Technical Knowledge \xe2\x80\x93 Comprehensive understanding of Vale business systems including Procurement, Project Management, Finance, Safety, and Operations and Maintenance Knowledge of entire contract management cycles, including administration and resolution of cost claims.System Knowledge - Comprehensive understanding of Work Management System. Working knowledge of SAPNumeric Logic - Proficient use of spreadsheets, analysis, and interpretation of statistical data. Understanding and application of mathematical concepts.Communication skills / demonstrated skills in time management and in conflict management.
