System Analyst - Technology Services

The System Analyst will work collaboratively with hospital stakeholders and external vendors to implement, support and maintain the leading-edge smart hospital systems, applications and integrations for the new Mackenzie Health Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital and the existing Richmond Hill Hospital.

An enthusiastic adopter and fast learner of new technologies with proven communication and problem-solving skills and knowledge of hardware, software and system integration will be successful in this role.

Contribute to safe, quality care by

  • Work with internal and external teams on all phases of system lifecycle including requirement gathering, analysis, solution design, implementation, integration, testing, support and maintenance.
  • Provide end-user support for non-clinical hospital systems such as Real Time Location Systems (RTLS), Nurse Call, Staff Duress, Patient Safety and Patient Engagement systems, etc.
  • Provide system support and maintenance that includes, but not limited to, activities such as activating and applying RTLS asset tags to equipment, staff and associating tag to device and staff badges, changing batteries on tags and system hardware components.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, repair and replace devices. May occasionally require climbing ladders to reach ceiling and wall-mounted devices.
  • Provide application support and expertise for integration points between connected hospital systems and building systems
What must you have?
  • University degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent required. Or
  • IT industry certification and continuous training of current technology are required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in IT and/or healthcare industry.
What else do you bring?
  • Knowledge of the Engineering, and Facility Management industry and the design and installation of technology systems such as telecommunications infrastructure, cabling, audiovisual, building security, and wired/wireless networks.
  • Working experience with RTLS Systems, Building Automation Systems, Access Control, Vocera Engage, Cetani, Nurse Call is an asset.
  • Basic working knowledge of interface and integration methodology (HL7, SOAP, Web Service, DICOM, FHIR etc.), database (SQL or Oracle), and programming languages (PHP, C#, Python, or Java).
  • Working experience with Linux, Windows, Virtualization, AD and monitoring tools
  • Working experience with integration of cross-functional applications between different business units and systems.
  • Working knowledge of business and technical requirements analysis, business process modelling and methodology development, and data mapping.
  • Working experience supporting and maintaining computer hardware and software.
  • Good understanding of risk management, privacy, e-safety, and quality assurance methodologies as they relate to integration/software engineering.
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to adopt modern information technology and systems and an enthusiastic adopter of new and novel technology solutions.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
